LINDA COLLETTA
Poetry & Punk Rock

5.2 - 6.15

SOLO SHOW

MAY 2 - June 15 | EAST HAMPTON

Linda Colletta’s work pushes the dimensional and tactile nature of painting in a way that elicits an enchanting tension between poetry and punk rock. She repeatedly uses the grid as a framework for juxtaposing dynamics to be shaped by a system of elegance and precision. Colletta’s process is a direct reflection of her personal desire to alchemize hardships into heroism.

All the work begins with pooling paints onto both sides of unsized raw canvases. These underpaintings evolve over months in a non formulaic manner and reveal the cyclical history of creation, destruction and recreation. Colletta uses scale as a show of force, autonomy and physicality, as well as an access point into overlooked micro-moments throughout the terrain of her life. Color choices come from an intuitive place and explore the dichotomy between danger and liberation.

Colletta’s work has been shown internationally at The London Art Fair, Scope Miami Beach, LA Art Show, Market Art & Design Hamptons, Uprise Art, Burning Man, The Affordable Art Fair, and The Other Art Fair. Private collections include Principal Financial Group, Google NYC, Justin Bieber, Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York Presbyterian, 590 Madison and 277 Fifth NoMad.
