Icons & Imagery:
THE ART OF ELIZA GEDDES
Eliza Geddes is an abstract painter living in Locust Valley, New York. She explores prominant female icons of the past century in Icons & Imagery: The Art of Eliza Geddes. The interaction and repetition of shape and texture provide entry points with which to navigate the work. Geddes’ technique involves a long process of layering and texturing the canvas with markings and various X forms. Using unconventional materials: house paint, ink, a foam brush and a putty knife, she creates a multidimensional experience of the multifaceted women she celebrates.
